AirPods Headset: Once Dismantled, Impossible to be Repaired
Famous crazy free repair site iFixit today dissembles AirPods headset, and it turns out to be beyond repair once destroyed.
AirPods is equipped with A1602 headset, and the charger box capacity is 398mAh. It’s very bizarre to all that even left and right headphones are actually different: left is A1722 while right is A1532.
By disassembly, iFixit finds the inner workmanship is very dedicate, so once it is dismantled, there is no chance to repair it completely. There is a battery of 93mAh built inside the headphone.
To summarize, iFixit supposes it is impossible to remove inside components of AirPods if the shell remains intact, and it makes dismantling even more difficult that the whole headset and charger box wear quite an amount of glue, let alone repairing, so at last, iFixit gives a repair score of 0.
